Reports say China EV maker XPeng has entered the yacht market with a project
codenamed Flying Fish and has formed a dedicated R&D team of nearly 100 people
led by vehicle architecture head Qian Zhanwei. The project is said to remain in
early R&D with no technical specs or launch timetable disclosed. XPeng said it
was "not aware" of the matter. Automakers including Mercedes‑AMG, Lamborghini,
Porsche and Lexus have previously moved into the yacht segment.
