Channel sources say MLCC shortages have expanded beyond AI-specific parts to mainstream specifications, with major SKUs now undersupplied. Walsin Technology identifies 47uF as the tightest SKU and says AI-driven high-end orders have crowded out Japanese and Korean capacity, spilling over to high-volume mobile/PC parts including 10uF, 22uF and X5R. Suppliers expect the shortage to continue into 2027 or 2028 and warn it could exceed the 2018 passive-component crunch.
