On June 16 China's Premier Li Qiang met Myanmar president Min Aung Hlaing in Beijing. Li said China will deepen high‑quality Belt and Road cooperation and accelerate major China‑Myanmar Economic Corridor projects, further extend benefits from China's zero‑tariff policy and expand bilateral trade. He flagged expanded cooperation in renewable energy, artificial intelligence and the digital economy. Both sides agreed to strengthen law‑enforcement cooperation to tackle cross‑border online gambling and telecom fraud and to protect Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in Myanmar. Li also called for closer coordination in multilateral forums including the UN, Lancang‑Mekong cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to defend developing countries' interests.
