Preliminary reports show severe damage across multiple areas, including the capital Caracas, significant casualties, and people still trapped or missing. Critical infrastructure has been damaged and basic services disrupted. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is assisting with deployment of urban search-and-rescue teams.
