The USDA expects US imports of Mexican sugar to reach up to 1.15 mln mt in 2026-27, sheinbaum said on social media, a 512% increase versus 2025-26. The figure appeared in a USDA supply-and-demand report published July 10. At current prices the additional volume would generate up to 47.6 bln MXN (about $272 mln) for Mexican producers.
