According to a Nikkei report, sources revealed that despite the current tight supply of memory chips, Huawei still plans to increase its smartphone shipments by more than 20% this year. Huawei has informed its suppliers that it plans to increase smartphone shipments to 60 million units, compared to less than 50 million units last year. If the report is true, Huawei will become the only major Chinese smartphone manufacturer still committed to achieving shipment growth in 2026. Competitors including Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo have all lowered their production forecasts due to memory shortages and rising costs of various electronic components.
