On July 16, Iran's embassy in Lebanon said the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen due to US pressure and will only resume navigation under "conditions set by Iran." The statement said the United States must accept this reality and that the dispute can be resolved either through dialogue or by accepting that Iranian military force will compel compliance with those conditions.
