Offshore Oil Engineering Co. (Haiyou Engineering) said China-developed
Qinghai-series jacket auxiliary devices were used in the offshore installation
of the jacket for the new wellhead platform at the Dongfang 1-1 gas field. The
tools provide temporary fixation, attitude control, structural connection and
collision protection during jacket installation and are designed for prolonged
maintenance-free operation; the company said key technologies for such equipment
had previously been held by only a few countries.
