Iranian military spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi said the US has failed to achieve
its objectives "in the Strait of Hormuz and in weakening Iran," state television
reported. Shekarchi was quoted as saying: "For the US, the situation is chaotic
and not ideal." He added that Washington's withdrawal "depends on the permission
of Zionists," an apparent reference to Israel.
