[Finnish Business Leaders: US Imposing Tariffs While Failing to Fulfill Obligations is Absurd] Timo Wori, Director of International Trade and Trade Policy at the Federation of Finnish Industries, stated on the 27th that the US, which has not fully fulfilled its obligations under the International Labour Organization framework, is imposing tariffs on other economies under the pretext of "forced labor," highlighting its double standards. In an interview with Finnish National Broadcasting Corporation that day, Wori said that the Trump administration's search for "legal grounds" for unilateral tariffs, ultimately resorting to the reason of "forced labor" from a 1970s law, is utterly absurd. Wori pointed out that the Trump administration's tariff policies pose severe challenges to Finnish industries such as steel and pharmaceuticals, damage global trade relations, and bring more uncertainty to the global economy and business operations. Trade wars cannot be won through tariffs; ultimately, it is ordinary American consumers who pay the price. Wori also expressed concern about the Trump administration's increasing use of tariffs in disputes outside of trade policy.
