Japan's Nikkei 225 closed July 28 (Tuesday) down 2,566.27 points, or 3.95%, at 62,364.92. South Korea's KOSPI closed July 28 down 732.12 points, or 10.84%, at 6,023.63, after an intraday drop of more than 11% below 6,000; the index is down nearly 30% month-to-date. SK Hynix fell more than 14% and Samsung Electronics fell more than 13%.

Oil extended its decline despite rising Red Sea risk as a temporary easing of U.S.-Iran hostilities and diplomatic efforts weighed on risk premia. Iran and Oman are reportedly seeking an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal resumed loading after a one-week suspension, adding downward pressure. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted drones launched by Iran-backed Iraqi militias against oil facilities. Goldman Sachs data show Persian Gulf crude flows have fallen to 41% of pre-war levels; Red Sea flows fell by more than 3.0 mln b/d last week as Saudi shipments were rerouted via the Suez Canal and Russia sharply reduced Red Sea exports. Despite the selloff, supply risk remains elevated.

China A-share humanoid-robot concept stocks oscillated higher. Jiezhong Technology, Huada Technology, Dianke Digital and Xinya Process closed at the daily price limit. Mingxin Xuteng hit a second consecutive limit-up. Shangwei New Materials rose more than 9%. Beizi Technology, Sanhua Zhikong, Tuosida, Lixing Co. and Tianqi Co. are also advanced.
