On Aug 1 local time the US embassy in Israel issued a security alert saying
sustained tension in the Middle East has left a complex security environment
with risk of unpredictable escalation. The embassy said US citizens in the
region should remain cautious and be prepared for possible flight cancellations,
airspace closures and travel disruptions; some carriers have delayed resuming
previously suspended services and have canceled routes. It urged US citizens to
consider evacuating or be ready to depart at short notice.
