typhoon alert to red for Typhoon No.13 Baihaitun (White Dolphin). The center was
at 27.9°N, 122.9°E — about 215 km east of Wenzhou in the southern East China Sea
— with maximum winds near the center of 45 m/s (equivalent to 14 on the Chinese
scale) and central pressure 950 hPa. Wind radii: 7-level 300–450 km, 10-level
200–250 km, 12-level 100 km. Baihaitun is moving westward at 20–25 km/h with
little change in intensity forecast and is expected to make landfall along the
coast between Zhoushan (Zhejiang) and Fuding (Fajian) between the evening of the
9th and early hours of the 10th, with landfall winds of 38–45 m/s (13–14); the
