The Korea Development Institute (KDI) said in its monthly economic assessment on Monday that South Korea’s recovery is broadening, led by semiconductor-related industries. Exports and equipment investment have maintained strong growth driven by semiconductors, while durable-goods spending is accelerating overall consumption. Services remain solid and manufacturing has rebounded, lifting aggregate industrial production. KDI warned the economy still faces uncertainties from U.S. tariff policy and ongoing Middle East geopolitical uncertainties instability, and noted elevated inflation and worsening employment are weighing on the recovery.
