The Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area Shiziyang Channel project will
complete the main construction of the east and west anchorages of Shiziyang
Bridge today (Aug 13), finishing the bridge’s key load‑bearing anchor structures
and clearing the way for subsequent catwalk and main‑cable installation. The 35
km channel runs west from Nansha, Guangzhou to Humen and Shatian towns in
Dongguan. It is the GBA’s next major cross‑river link after the Hong
Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge and the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Link, and the Pearl River
Estuary’s first double‑deck composite highway corridor; scheduled for completion
and opening in 2029.
