The Kremlin said on the 26th (local time) President Vladimir Putin held a phone
call with Ahmad Sharaa, president of the Syrian Transitional Government, to
discuss the current state and prospects of Russia‑Syria relations. Putin
reiterated support for Syria’s unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Both sides said the previously signed memorandum of understanding on
restructuring the Hmeimim air base and the Tartus naval base is of significance
importance.
