US Commerce Department data showed July durable goods new orders rose 1.1% MoM
to $339.3 bln, up from a 0.5% gain in June and beating economists' 0.5%
forecast. Transportation equipment led with a 2.3% increase after two months of
declines. Excluding transportation, new orders rose 0.4%; excluding defense,
they rose 1.3%.
