Counterpoint Research: Apple’s iPhone 17 was the world’s best-selling smartphone in Q2 2026, capturing a 6% share of global smartphone shipments. The iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro ranked second and third. Apple and Samsung each placed five models in the global top 10; the top 10 models accounted for 26% of global smartphone sales, up 2% YoY. The standard iPhone 17’s major upgrades narrowed the gap with Pro models, supporting volume. Samsung had two Galaxy S-series models in the top 10; the Galaxy S26 Ultra was Samsung’s best-selling model this quarter, up five places versus the prior generation, and was the quarter’s top-selling Android — the first time an ultra-premium Android led Android sales in Q2.
