A 7,000-ton product tanker carrying petroleum products caught fire Thursday
night in waters west of Seoul near Incheon. The blaze, reported at about 10:38
p.m., was extinguished. Of 18 crew, two died and 16 were rescued and are in
stable condition. The Coast Guard said the fire likely began in the engine room
and did not spread to the vessel's fuel storage tanks.
