China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Transport
issued a Logistics Network Construction Implementation Plan directing the
cultivation and scaling of logistics enterprises. The plan targets development
of internationally competitive transport-logistics leaders and integrated
logistics integrators, formation of specialized logistics service firms, and
encourages resource-integrating logistics companies to use mergers,
restructuring and strategic partnerships to act as connectors in the logistics
network, deepen integrated/networked operations, develop new business formats
and models, and improve network operating quality and efficiency.
