technologies developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization
(DRDO) to Indian defense firms to enable domestic production of conventional
missile systems. The move, part of New Delhi's Aatmanirbharta (self‑reliance)
drive, aims to strengthen defense manufacturing, reduce dependence on foreign countries
suppliers and expand defense exports while enhancing deterrence against
Pakistan; analysts warn the plan faces near‑term limits because missile supply
chains still rely on imported components and private firms' ability to
independently produce complex weapons is unproven.
