China’s telecom sector ran steadily in Jan–Jul. Telecom service revenue totaled 1.02 tln yuan, down 2.1% YoY; telecom services volume at constant prices rose 7.7% YoY. Mobile internet access traffic grew rapidly. Fixed broadband access users at the three major carriers reached 702 mln at end-July, net +11.46 mln vs end of last year; 100Mbps+ users 671 mln (95.6% share); 1,000Mbps+ users 260 mln, net +21.98 mln, 37.1% of total (+2.6 ppt vs end of last year). Total mobile subscribers at the three carriers and China Broadcasting Network were 1.847 bln, net +20.62 mln; 5G mobile users reached 1.303 bln, net +98.75 mln, accounting for 70.5% of mobile users.
