Securities Times says A-share 2026 semiannual reports have prompted renewed
attention on holdings and rebalancings by prominent high-net-worth individual
investors, including Zhang Jianping and Ge Weidong. The paper warns retail
investors against blindly copying those positions, citing three market-relevant
risks: disclosed holdings are subject to reporting lag; filings capture only
part of an investor’s total portfolio and may be incomplete; and even well-known
individuals make mistakes and incur losses — past cases of prominent investors’
failed bets are not rare. Copying such trades could therefore expose investors
to unexpected losses.
