Sept 1, Beijing — MIIT minister Li Lecheng met a US-China Business Council board delegation led by chairman McCain. Li said Presidents Xi and Trump have established a new “constructive strategic stability” positioning and urged MIIT to work with US counterparts to implement summit conclusions, prioritizing practical cooperation in new-energy vehicles (NEVs), information technology, artificial intelligence and healthcare to bolster bilateral ties. He invited more US firms to maintain and expand operations in China and deepen industry and supply‑chain cooperation. McCain thanked MIIT for its support to US companies and said the council will encourage members to expand China engagement.
