On Sept. 3, Poland Deputy Defense Minister Pawel Zalewski said Warsaw wants to
expand its role in NATO’s nuclear deterrent and is discussing participation in
nuclear-sharing tasks tied to weapons delivery systems. He said Poland is
seeking delivery-related duties under NATO’s nuclear-sharing framework — the
first time Warsaw has pushed allies to consider it for such roles. He added
there is currently no discussion of deploying nuclear warheads on Polish
territory outside existing NATO deployment sites.
