On Sept. 3, Poland Deputy Defense Minister Pawel Zalewski said Warsaw wants to expand its role in NATO’s nuclear deterrent and is discussing participation in nuclear-sharing tasks tied to weapons delivery systems. He said Poland is seeking delivery-related duties under NATO’s nuclear-sharing framework — the first time Warsaw has pushed allies to consider it for such roles. He added there is currently no discussion of deploying nuclear warheads on Polish territory outside existing NATO deployment

State-owned Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is negotiating a multibillion-dollar electricity prepayment with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to raise capital for grid expansion serving a new semiconductor cluster. Under the current proposal Samsung would prepay 20 trillion won and SK Hynix 5 trillion won, totaling 25 trillion won, roughly equivalent to about five years of projected power bills. KEPCO said the mechanism would align firms needing rapid grid build-out with the utility’s funding needs; specific prepayment amounts and coverage periods have not been finalized.

Rosstat said Russian retail sales rose 5.4% YoY in January–July.
