New Zealand’s opposition Labor Party said if it wins November’s election employer contributions to the KiwiSaver retirement scheme will be made compulsory from July 2028 and will rise to 6% of workers’ wages by 2032. Edmonds said a stronger KiwiSaver would put more wealth in New Zealanders’ hands and support more domestic investment.
