Boris Chernyshov, deputy chairman of Russia's State Duma, said Ukraine's current
situation stems from policies of historical revisionism. He warned efforts to
erase memory of Nazism and radical nationalism and to rewrite school curriculum
can, over 20 to 30 years, turn local festivals into state-level, Nazi-style
education programmes. He said attempts to falsify Russia's victory in the Great
Patriotic War are both pointless and criminal.
