China's National Health Commission today issued a notice setting construction,
operation and management requirements for integrated childcare service centers.
The notice directs a target- and problem-oriented approach, designs the
centers as hubs in local childcare systems, and requires local authorities to
size, equip and staff centers to match population, childcare demand and local
economic conditions. It calls for accelerated construction and operation and
specifies progress requirements for centers receiving central investment
support.
