To secure the Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday period, the Office of the
State Council Work Safety Committee, the National Office for Disaster
Prevention, Mitigation and Relief and the Ministry of Emergency Management have
deployed graded, industry-specific inspection teams to carry out unannounced
checks. Teams will use the “four no, two direct” method (no advance notice, no
briefing, no materials; go straight to front-line units and on-site locations)
to inspect key industries, critical sites and vulnerable points and push
implementation of safety responsibilities. On Sept. 26, Song Yuanming, deputy
director of the State Council Work Safety Committee office and vice minister of
the Ministry of Emergency Management, conducted a video spot-check of
inspections in Beijing, Liaoning, Shandong, Sichuan and Shaanxi and urged local
authorities to further strengthen safety measures to ensure holiday stability.
