U.S. goods trade deficit widened unexpectedly in August as imports rose, the
U.S. Commerce Department said Wednesday. The deficit increased 11.5% m/m to
$132.6bn, the largest since early 2025; the median economist forecast was
$115.0bn. Data are not adjusted for inflation.
