China's power market traded 5,180 bln kWh Jan–Aug 2026, up 19.2% YoY, the National Energy Administration said. Provincial internal transactions totaled 4,026.4 bln kWh (+21.5%); interprovincial/intra‑regional flows 1,153.6 bln kWh (+12.1%). By product, mid‑to‑long‑term contracts were 4,617.3 bln kWh (≈89%); spot trading 562.7 bln kWh. Green power transactions reached 218.2 bln kWh (+6.1%). Grid companies' market‑based proxy purchases amounted to 563.8 bln kWh.
