On Oct. 3, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said Ukraine will intensify strikes on
Russian refineries in response to large-scale Russian air raids. Earlier the
same day the Russian defense ministry said Russian forces used drones overnight
to strike Ukrainian infrastructure and vessels supporting Ukrainian forces. The
ministry reported the northern highway bridge over the Dnipro in Kyiv — used for
troop movements and materiel transport — was hit; a Kyiv-region logistics center
storing Ukrainian supplies was struck; and a cargo ship en route to Odesa in the
northwest Black Sea was hit.
