The Manhattan U.S. Attorney's Office on the 8th filed new charges accusing
detained Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife of torture and abuse of
detainees. CNN on the 7th, citing multiple sources, said the new counts relate
to U.S.-designated "wrongful detention" incidents. The U.S. has previously said
more than ten U.S. citizens were held in Venezuelan prisons during Maduro's
rule.
