Fares Al-Bail, director of the Yemeni Center for Future Strategic Studies, stated that the "military noose" around the Houthi rebels is tightening as forces of the internationally recognized Yemeni government continue their offensive.
The Yemeni government forces' operations in the Marib and Jawf directions are of significant strategic importance, as these are Yemen's eastern gateway and home to the country's major oil and gas reserves.
The operations on the eastern front aim to control these areas, prevent the Houthis from expanding into the eastern and southern provinces, and support other fronts in Taiz, Bayda, and the west coast.
