Sources familiar with the matter say that amid a global shortage of memory chips leading to rising prices, SK Hynix's U.S. subsidiary, Solidigm, hopes to install new equipment in idle space at SK Hynix's Dalian, China plant to produce NAND flash memory chips. Solidigm told Washington that expanding production in China would help the company raise funds for a new NAND factory in the United States.
