At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference, Guo Shougang, director of the Equipment Industry Division at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said Changan and BAIC received conditional market-access approvals for L3 autonomous driving products in Dec 2025 and a second round of pilot approvals is now underway. MIIT will step up on‑road operation monitoring and safety and oversight compile lessons to support safe operation of intelligent connected vehicles.
