According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Iranian authorities have confirmed that the government owes importers of basic goods a total of €4.07 billion in foreign exchange. The previous day, the head of Iran's Planning and Budget Organization emphasized that the outstanding foreign exchange payments should be made to importers of basic goods after the Ministry of Economy confirms the relevant claims. Currently, the compiled reports have been submitted to the Iranian Cabinet and the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination of the Three Governments to decide whether to repay the government's outstanding foreign exchange debts through the National Development Fund, and what the specific repayment arrangements will be.
