Private property consultancy Cotality said Australian home values fell for a seventh consecutive month in October, down 1.4% MoM and down 8.1% cumulatively over the past seven months, pushing toward the largest decline in 40 years. Brisbane posted the largest October fall at 2.0%, followed by Perth -1.7%, Sydney -1.6% and Adelaide -1.2%. Markets expect the Reserve Bank of Australia to lift borrowing costs again next week. President Paz signed a decree on Oct. 31 declaring a national emergency to address El Nifio-related drought in parts of Bolivia and to prevent flood risks in coming months. The measure mobilizes economic and human resources, boosts interagency coordination and seeks international cooperation to meet affected households’ needs and limit disruption to livelihoods and production. Sixty-three communities are reported drought-affected; livestock are suffering from feed shortages.
