Iran foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi
visited Doha to facilitate Iran‑U.S. communications and that information
exchanges are ongoing. Baghaei said the decision now rests with the U.S. and
that Iran’s demands is necessary to implement regional security. He
said it is inconsistent to discuss Strait of Hormuz security while maintaining
an economic blockade, abandoning the Islamabad understanding and expecting Iran
to assume obligations unilaterally; that would be a one‑sided, unsustainable
deal. Iran insists its demands be implemented first.
