After one year of local assembly in Brazil, BYD's market share more than doubled
to 9.7% from 4.2%, with trailing 12‑month registrations of 193,227 vehicles, up
over 120% YoY. October registrations were 24,114, up 137.6% YoY. BYD says the
local plant has assembled more than 150,000 vehicles and created 9,500 jobs;
welding and paint lines are in advanced operational testing and the stamping
plant is nearing completion to complete local manufacturing capacity. BYD says
its target is to lead the Brazilian auto market by 2030.
