TrendForce said in its latest 2027 Infrared Sensing and Optical Communications Market Trends report that rising internal data‑center Scale‑Up (vertical expansion) network traffic is boosting demand for VCSEL NPOs, which vendors favor for low power, maintenance flexibility and a relatively mature supply chain. Major suppliers are investing in R&D and multiple VCSEL NPO solutions are expected to appear in 2027–28. Combined with stronger short‑reach optical transceiver demand, TrendForce forecasts VCSEL market demand could reach 650 million units by 2031, a 38% CAGR from 2025–2031.

The Reserve Bank of India will open a dedicated FX window on Monday to supply dollars to three state-owned oil companies, meeting their full daily USD needs via dollar sales through designated banks. RBI has barred re-registration of any previously canceled rupee-related FX derivative contracts. It cut the threshold for hedges that do not require proof of underlying assets from an equivalent of $100m to $5m. RBI also introduced an FX risk reserve requiring banks to deposit cash equal to 20% of the rupee-equivalent nominal amount with the central bank for any transaction with nominal value above $2m.
