The sides will open technical talks on the EU foreign subsidies regulation. They will continue dialogue with the EU on the bloc’s guidance for financing inverter projects and on cosmetics and drug regulation, and will exchange on market access for medical devices and agricultural products. The two parties held in-depth talks on electric and hybrid vehicle trade, averting escalation and protecting Chinese exporters and the stability of China-EU hybrid car trade.

MOFCOM said the second meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultations mechanism reviewed the prior general guidance on price commitments in the electric-vehicle anti-subsidy case; the EU will actively promote company price commitments and related review procedures. Both sides flagged substantial cooperation potential in new energy, artificial intelligence, services trade, the digital economy and green/low-carbon sectors and agreed to explore two-way investment cooperation. China reiterated it welcomes EU investment and will continue improving its business environment, and urged the EU to provide a fair, transparent and predictable operating environment and to safeguard the lawful rights of Chinese firms to bolster investment confidence in Europe.
