OpenAI on Sunday confirmed plans to brand its data centers as Compute Campus, saying the name better reflects the scale and role of AI infrastructure and signals long-term investment in compute, energy infrastructure and skilled labor. Data centers have become a voter issue in the US midterm elections and past attempts to improve public perception have largely failed; major builders including Meta, Amazon and Microsoft have pledged millions to nearby communities and schools, and OpenAI is pursuing a full rebrand to try to shift public opinion.

On Nov. 1 local time, Saudi-led coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said via social media the coalition carried out a precision strike that morning aimed at destroying key resources the Houthi movement uses to support its military operations. Al-Maliki said Houthi attacks threaten civilian lives, civilian infrastructure and the security of Saudi, Yemeni and southern Red Sea shipping. The coalition affirmed it will continue necessary measures to prevent the Houthis from using such resources. The statement did not disclose the strike’s location or results.
