ANA and Japan Airlines plan to raise international fuel surcharges for tickets issued July–August amid rising jet fuel prices linked to worsening Middle East tensions. One-way surcharges for North America and Europe for tickets issued in May–June already stand at 56,000 JPY (≈RMB 2,363) and are expected to be increased to about 65,000–70,000 JPY (≈RMB 2,743–2,954). The precise uplift is being coordinated with Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and other authorities and will be finalized soon. ANA and JAL’s June international surcharges were already raised sharply, more than 70% above April–May levels.

The Israel Defense Forces said on the 6th that two soldiers recently died while operating in southern Lebanon. A captain wounded in a Hezbollah drone strike on the night of the 4th died in hospital on the morning of the 6th. Separately, a soldier died on the 5th from an apparent accidental weapons discharge while on duty in southern Lebanon.

Iran’s ambassador to Mexico, Pasandide, said the national football team has been told it must enter and leave US territory on match days during the World Cup. Citing a US and Israeli war on Tehran, Pasandide said the team is now based in Mexico instead of the originally planned Tucson, Arizona; visa rules allow morning entry but require same‑day departure. Iran has three group matches in the US, scheduled in Los Angeles and Seattle.
