Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed up 25.55 points (0.10%) at 25,884.43 on July 31 (Friday). The Hang Seng Tech Index closed up 25.45 points (0.53%) at 4,829.22. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) closed down 32.56 points (0.38%) at 8,612.15, and the Hang Seng Red Chip Index closed down 57.30 points (1.35%) at 4,193.12.

President Trump said a peace committee reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all armed groups in Gaza. The deal foresees Gaza governed by a new Palestinian government working with the peace committee and provides Israel with security guarantees, including that Gaza will no longer be used as a base for terrorist attacks. Implementation will be phased; once disarmament is complete Israeli forces will withdraw and an international stabilization force will cooperate with a new Palestinian police to secure Gaza for residents and neighboring states. Trump described the accord as a milestone in his 20-point plan and said further work remains.
