Politico, citing two European diplomats, reports U.S. Trade Representative Greer has been invited to the EU trade ministers' meeting in Dublin on Oct. 22-23. The invitation comes as Washington steps up pressure on EU regulatory rules and as Brussels awaits a U.S. probe into European manufacturing that could prompt measures at odds with last year’s transatlantic trade agreement. Greer has not confirmed attendance. The meeting is hosted by Ireland during its EU Council presidency.

MOFCOM vice minister said China’s foreign investment outlook is stable-to-improving and investor interest in China remains firm. The ministry expects inward FDI stock to reach about $4.0 trillion by end-2025. Jan–Jul saw 38,000 newly established foreign-funded enterprises; actual utilized FDI fell YoY but the rate of decline narrowed by 6.2 percentage points to RMB 438.33 billion. FDI into high‑technology industries rose 32.7% YoY in the first seven months and accounted for more than 40% of FDI inflow growth. Surveys by US and EU chambers report most foreign firms in China remain profitable and intentions to increase investment have generally strengthened. The 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade will be held Sept. 8–11 in Xiamen, Fujian.
