The European Commission said on Monday OpenAI’s ChatGPT must comply with stricter EU rules under the Digital Services Act, including removal of illegal content and measures to protect minors, or face fines of up to 6% of global turnover. Brussels is clarifying how existing digital rules apply to fast-evolving AI services, formally extending DSA obligations to generative AI. The Commission named Reddit and Roblox for the same designation; X’s AI chatbot Grok is already under DSA investigation.

On Aug. 29 at the China Spatial Intelligence Conference (ChinaSI2026), Hesai-W (02525.HK), a physical-AI infrastructure platform, and 3D native world-model developer InSpatio announced a strategic cooperation. The partners will focus on two main lines—high-quality real-world spatial data supply and open-source 3D native world models—linking 3D perception, scene reconstruction, dynamic world modeling and interactive simulation to jointly build an open spatial intelligence ecosystem.

China Index Academy reports top 100 developers' combined sales totaled 2.018 tln yuan in Jan-Aug 2026, with the YoY decline widening 0.3ppt versus Jan-Aug 1–7. The housing market remains in seasonal lull; only core cities are supported by new high-quality project launches, and leading developers' sales declines widened slightly. By company, five developers reached ≥100 bln yuan in Jan-Aug 2026, unchanged YoY; 40 reached ≥10 bln yuan, down 13 YoY.
