This means that the pressure is now increasingly shifting towards Iran, rather than the United States. If Iran loses control of the Strait of Hormuz, its leverage will quickly dissipate. This could involve increasing global economic pressure by driving up global energy prices and US gasoline prices, ultimately forcing Trump to concede, especially with the US midterm elections approaching. Iran's attempts to blockade the strait using drones and mines are now, for the first time, failing. As the war enters its fourth act, the US's current objectives have become clearer: maintaining the blockade against Iran, ensuring commercial shipping, and demanding that Iran abandon its claims to the strait and its nuclear enrichment program.
