NASA awarded Blue Origin a firm-fixed-price contract with a maximum potential value of about $700 million to develop a Mars communications network to provide reliable, high‑bandwidth communications and navigation for current and future Mars missions. Under the contract Blue Origin will design, develop, integrate, launch and operate the network and deliver a high‑performance Mars communications orbiter to NASA by Dec. 31, 2028.
